The HexBug Crab is coming to a dark place near you!

Following hot on the heals of the Hexbug Inchworm is the Hexbug Crab. A step up from the family of five HEXBUGS, this eight-legged Crab has a light sensor which means it hunts out and scuttles into dark and shady areas. Available later this year at the same time as the Hexbug Inchworm, this is another exciting addition to the HEXBUG family!

Turbo HEXBUG

Check out this video of turbo charged HEXBUG....yer another mod for the little critter!

Educational Value of HEXBUGS

Not content with just being a 'fun toy' for kids both big and small (but not younger than 8!) the HEXBUGS are also a great educational tool. As an introduction into electronics and robotics they are fantastic. Other posts show how easily they can be taken apart and modified....take that into the classroom and it will get childrens interest. Check out this link here for more information.

And for schools, these can be a great fundraiser. Contact the UK or US distributors for education pricing.

New addition to the HEXBUG family.....the Inchworm

The HEXBUGS have only just arrived in the UK, but they won;t be alone for long! Coming later this year is a HEXCRAB (more info coming soon) and a HEX INCHWORM with infrared remote control. Not sure what an Inchworm is, then check out this video and get your order in soon!

It was a 'blink and you'd miss it' moment but HEXBUGS took the leap to the small screen and appeared as foreground extras in the new KnightRider series on US TV.

If anyone else catches them on TV, post a comment.

HEXBUG Hack

"What can I do with a HEXBUG?" You may ask....what can't you do is pretty much the answer. One of the great things about the HEXBUG is the way it draws people in to the world of robotics and electronics. The design on the HEXBUG may be simple, but it's very effective and easier to modify.

Change the way the HEXBUG moves, make it sing a tune or give it a 'sleep' mode. These are just some of the ideas brought up on the 'HEXBUG Hack' website available here.

Official HEXBUG Advert

The HEXBUGS Have Landed!

With a massive following already worldwide, the HEXBUG robotic creature has arrived in the UK. HEXBUGS can feel their way around sensing objects in its path and avoiding them. It can be controlled by sound, which will literally stop them in their tracks and change direction, with five HEXBUGS to choose from, they make excellent gifts and are a great introduction to robotics for children.
